Merry Christmas from all of us at Mitten Rentals. Thank you to every family, couple and group of friends who stayed with us this year.
My family and I run Mitten Rentals together, and this is the time of year we get to stop and say it out loud. This is a short note, but it comes from the heart.
Why this blog? Hi, I'm Katie. My family and I run Mitten Rentals, and I have been hosting vacation rentals for more than ten years (Superhost since 2015). This is where I share the places I send our own guests along the West Michigan lakeshore.

A Few Words Before the New Year
1) Thank you
Hosting you is the best part of what we do. Thank you for treating our homes like your own and for all the kind reviews.
I have been a Superhost since 2015, and it is still the notes and reviews from guests that mean the most.
Every review gets read, and the kind words matter more than you know. Thank you for all of it.

2) What is next
We are already looking forward to next year, from Tulip Time to the summer beach days to fall in the orchards.
Every season on the lakeshore has its own thing, and we love seeing guests come back at different times of year.
If you have never been here for Tulip Time, or never seen the orchards in fall, put one of those on your list for next year. It is a different lakeshore every season, and each one is worth a trip. Spring brings the flowers, summer brings the long beach days, and fall brings apples, cider and color. Winter is quieter, but it might be my favorite for a slow weekend by the fire.

3) Plan ahead
Summer weekends book up early. If you have a trip in mind for next year, now is a good time to look.
Our area guides can help you pick a town and start planning. Pick the town that fits your group first, then pick the house.
My advice is simple: if a summer weekend matters to you, pick the dates now and book. Spring and fall are a little more flexible, but it never hurts to plan early. Holidays and festival weekends tend to go first, so if your trip is tied to one of those, look sooner rather than later. If your dates are flexible, a mid week stay can open up more options.
From our family to yours, thank you for a great year. We hope your holidays are warm and slow. We feel lucky to share this part of Michigan with you, and we cannot wait to welcome you back. Whatever brings you here next, we will be ready.
We hope to see you on the lakeshore in the new year, at Holland Home Retreat, Saugatuck Cabin, South Haven Cottage, or one of our Grand Junction homes.
